The Features Of Your Green Home...

  • Interior & Exterior Drain Tiles
These tiles drain into sealed sump pump basins which vent to the exterior of the home, eliminating any danger from Radon gas.
  • Poly Liner
By placing this under the basement slab, you prevent gallons of water from evaporating into the home every year.
  • Continuous Sealed Vapor Barrier
This prevents migration of water vapor into the shell of the home, eliminating the majority of damage done to homes in cold climates. Lessco® boxes are located at every electrical box on exterior walls and ceilings, and a poly liner is installed on all walls and ceilings.
  • Rubber Gaskets, Glue, & Caulk
Applying these at all framing seams eliminates air infiltration around the foundation keeping warm, cold, and dust-bearing air from entering.
  • Foam Sealant
Applied to all gaps around windows, doors, plumbing stubs, electrical penetrations, and band joists through the exterior shell of the home, foam sealant prevents the entry of outside air.
  • Windows
Andersen® windows increase winter comfort, reduce heating and cooling bills, and provide wide-open views. In high sun areas, sun glass reduces summer heat build-up in the home.
  • House Blanket
Your home is wrapped with a Tyvek® House Blanket which minimizes exterior air and dust infiltration into the home while allowing the frame of the house to breathe.
  • Energy Recovery Ventilator System
This system allows 1/3 air exchange per hour while recovering up to 82% of the heat from the venting of stale air. In cold weather it recovers 80% of the venting humidity and in warm weather, it reduces humidity in the incoming air by 80%, therefore reducing cooling loads and improving air quality. This system also removes many airborne contaminates such as pollen and dust.
  • Space Guard® High-Efficiency Air Cleaner
This cleaner reduces airborne particles such as bacteria, dust, pollen, mold, dust mites, pet hair, and dander. This highly effective filter removes particles up to five microns in size.
  • Two-Zone Comfort Control
The control customizes comfort and eliminates hot and cold spots in the home by using dual thermostats and dampers to control air flow from heating and cooling units.
  • Humidifier
It will replenish moisture to dry air, increasing winter comfort and maintaining recommended humidity levels.
  • Carrier® Electric Heat Pump
With a two-speed, high-efficiency compressor, the heat pump provides energy-efficient performance and long-lasting reliability. This two-speed operation will provide maximum year-round comfort during mild and severe weather conditions.
  • Sealed Ductwork
Tape or mastic is used to seal all ductwork, keeping dirt and dust out of the air resulting in an efficient and balanced air handling system. Ducts are run in heated areas only, increasing energy efficiency.
  • Blown-In-Blanket System Insulation (B.I.B.S.)
This combines an adhesive with insulation to manufacture a custom blanket of insulation for the home's walls. This type of insulation permits 68% less air infiltration.
  • InsulSafe III® Ceilings
This ceiling insulation decreases heating and cooling costs, increasing efficiency.
  • Wood Floors & Hard Surfaces
These options are preferred over carpeting which can harbor dirt, dust, and mold.
  • Sealed Combustion Gas Fireplace
With an outside combustion air supply, this fireplace uses unheated outside air. The balanced flue system eliminates an expensive chimney system.
  • Central Vacuum System
This removes allergy-causing particles from the home, rather than blowing them back into the air.
  • Exhaust Fans
Fans are installed to prevent bath humidity from spreading throughout the home.
  • Anti-Scald Devices
Homeowners and their children are protected because water temperature is limited to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This maintains water temperature at a constant, plus or minus three degrees.
  • High Efficiency Sealed Combustion Water Heater
Reduce energy costs by venting all combustion gases directly to the home's exterior. Heat traps are installed on all hot and cold pipe connections to the water heater.
  • Water Filtration or Softening System
Improve water quality and lower water usage and heating costs with an efficient system.
  • Custom Oak Cabinetry
This is installed using a non-formaldehyde glue to avoid potentially harmful fumes.
